Abstract
Fire protection in buildings is a fundamental measure to guarantee their safety and that of their occupants. Therefore, the purpose of this academic work is to develop the Fire and Panic Safety Process for the Municipality of Pimenta/MG. The building in question has 2 floors, with an area of 1,097.94 m² and additional annexes such as a parking lot with 808.97 m² and a library with 104.15 m², totaling 2,011.06 m² of constructed area. Currently, the location does not have sufficient fire safety and combat measures, thus the implementation of such measures is necessary. It was verified that the necessary safety measures for the building include: vehicle access, emergency exits, emergency lighting, fire detection, emergency signage, fire extinguishers, hydrants, and hoses. The requirements relevant to these measures were dimensioned according to the Technical Instructions of the Military Fire Department of Minas Gerais, presenting the calculation reports, floor plans, and other relevant annexes. Finally, it is important to understand the importance of fire and panic protection and to implement these measures where necessary for the safety of people and property
