Abstract
The growing awareness of environmental conservation is necessary for the population to value and be careful with natural assets. The present work analyzes how the teaching of Environmental Education can be carried out, even in kindergarten, where individuals are in a moment of construction of identity. When the importance of preserving the environment is awakened at this stage, the child grows up knowing the reasons why he needs to preserve it. As it is a moment of discoveries and formation of children, family and school must work together and procedurally on the importance of preserving natural assets. This work intends to present the analysis of a case study in which it shows how Environmental Education is worked in the CMEIs of the municipality of Mariana-MG. For its realization, bibliographical reviews were used, documents that govern environmental education and early childhood education. After analyzing the case study of how the teaching of environmental education works in the CMEIs of Mariana, it was possible to perceive that children, even though they are so small, are already capable of learning the importance of preserving the environment, where the commitment of the teaching staff, the school environment, the didactics and the theme were fundamental in this process.
