Abstract
This research has as its main objectives to understand how the assets related to the nature of expenditure on Information Technology material, furniture in general and machinery andequipment of an industrial nature at IFMG – Campus Ouro Branco contribute to the quality of the institution's teaching. To carry out the proposed investigation, a descriptive, qualitative and applied study was carried out, through a case study, action research, bibliographical research and documentary research. The collected data were interpreted using content analysis. The main results found in the research show that the management of public school assets at IFMG Campus Ouro Branco promotes education in Basic, Technical and Technological Education, and that the topic “Asset Management” is broad, so the interpretation of legislation is a sensitive task and decisive for the conduct of the procedure. Furthermore, efficiency in asset management activities goes together with Professional and Technological Education and contributes to the challenging mission proposed by Federal Institutes. In view of this, an educational product was created - duly applied and validated - entitled “IFMG Heritage Management Flowchart – Ouro Branco Campus”, based on the relevant legislation, which contains the stages of the process of listing permanent assets. Finally, it is highlighted that the present study may contribute to better efficiency in the use and distribution of heritage assets that assist in the comprehensive training of students at the institution in focus, thus promoting Professional and Technological Education.
